Fall Season Information

Both the Peanuts and Intramural seasons begin September 13.

Peanuts Program

Peanuts will meet at Johnson Park this season from 8:30 to 9:30 on Saturdays starting September 13. On the first day players will receive their shirt and socks. There are no practices during the week for this program.  Players should bring a size 3 ball and something to drink. A coach will be in touch before the first day to let players know their assigned team location at the park.

What You Need to Play

The club provides a uniform shirt and socks for intramural and peanuts players.

Players are required to have shinguards and soccer cleats, and they need to bring their own ball to practice.

Peanuts and Division 5 (microsoccer) use a Size 3 ball.

Divisions 2, 3 and 4 use a Size 4 ball.

Division 1 uses a Size 5 ball.

JSC Recreation Programs
Overview of Jackson Soccer Club's Recreation Soccer Programs

The Jackson Soccer Club recreation program is open to children ranging in age from 3-years-old to 17-years-old.  The program is broken down into three components -- Peanuts, Mircosoccer, and Intramural -- and has Fall and Spring seasons. In the Fall teams generally begin practicing mid August and the games are played September to early November.  In the Spring, teams usually begin practicing by the end of March, with games running from April to mid June.

Peanuts Program

The Peanuts program is for our youngest soccer players, ranging from age 3 to age 5. Peanuts teams meet on Saturday mornings for fun soccer-related activities and scrimmages. These teams do not practice during the week.

Microsoccer Program

The Microsoccer program consists of  teams that play 3 v 3 games on a smaller field. This format promotes more activity and touches on the ball. This is generally a one-year program. Teams practice duing the week and play games on Saturdays. There are  usually separate boys and girls divisions, although co-ed teams may be formed if there are not enough players to support separate divisions.

Intramural Program

Within the Intramural program, Divisions 3 and 4 play an 8 v 8 format on small-sided fields. Each division has a two-year age range and there are separate divisions for boys and girls. Divisions 1 and 2 play an 11 v 11 format on full-sided fields. Both of these divisions are currently co-ed.  Teams practice once or twice a week and play games on Saturdays.

Age Breakdowns for Divisions

The US Youth Soccer calendar year (August 1 to July 31) is used to determine what division a player is assigned to.

For the Fall 2008 season, the divisions are based on the following birth dates:

Division 1: Players born 8/1/91  to 7/31/95

Division 2: Players born 8/1/95  to 7/31/98

Division 3: Players born 8/1/98  to 7/31/00

Division 4: Players born 8/1/00  to 7/31/02

Microsoccer: Players born 8/1/02  to 7/31/03

Peanuts: Players born 8/1/03  to 9/1/05
