JSC Intramural Programs
Overview of Jackson Soccer Club's Intramural Soccer Programs:
Jackson Soccer Club Intramurals is a recreation program open to children ranging in age from 3-years-old to 17-years-old. The program is broken down into four components -- Peanuts, Mini Kickers, Micro Kickers, and Intramural -- and has Fall and Spring seasons. In the Fall teams generally begin practicing mid August and the games are played September to early November. In the Spring, teams usually begin practicing by the end of March, with games running from April to mid June.
Peanuts Program
The Peanuts program is for our youngest soccer players, ranging from age 3 to age 4. Peanuts teams meet on Saturday mornings for fun soccer-related activities and scrimmages. These teams do not practice during the week.
Mini Kickers Program
The Mini Kickers program will follow US Soccer's grassroots initiative of play, practice, play format. This format promotes more activity and touches on the ball. Teams do not practice during the week, and the program meets on Saturday mornings. All sessions are overseen by Tecnica trainers providing guidance to Team Managers. Micro Kickers Program
The Micro Kickers program will alternate weekly between: (A) full play-practice-play format ( https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2018/02/five-things-to-know-about-playpracticeplay ) finishing with intra-team scrimmages and (B) 10 minute warm up / practices with a "small-sided" 5v5 game played against another Jackson Micro Kickers team. All sessions are overseen by Tecnica trainers providing guidance to Team Managers.
Intramural Program
The Intramural Program will meet for training once per week on Wednesday evenings with sessions fully led by Tecnica trainers. On Saturday mornings, Collegiate plays a 7v7 format, Major League plays a 9v9 format, and Premier plays an 11v11 format. Saturday games are overseen by Tecnica trainers providing guidance to Team Managers.
Age Breakdowns for Divisions
The US Youth Soccer calendar year (January 1 to December 31) is used to determine what division a player is assigned to.
